It reflects evidence-based evidence and the fourth edition of the National Consensus Project For Quality Palliative Care Clinical Practice Guidelines.
To best prepare for the ACHPN examination, this third edition has been reorganized by the six domains of the ACHPN Detailed Content Outline. These domains are: Nursing Process in Caring for Adult Patients and Families, Scientific Knowledge (biomedical, clinical, and psychosocial-behavioral), Education and Communication, Professionalism, Systems Issues. Nursing process include Assessment, Diagnosis and Planning, Interventions, and Evaluation. Education includes patients, families, and health care communities. Professionalism includes: ethics, scope and standards, self-care, and leadership. Systems issues includes: quality improvement, and standards for care. There is also a section that includes common assessment tools, common medications, and resources for studying for the ACHPN examination.
