The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association’s Competencies for the Hospice and Palliative Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse lays out the roles and responsibilities for high-quality practice, with an emphasis on partnership and collaboration. The competencies cover major topics, outlined by the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Credentialing Center (HPCC), that are pertinent to licensed practical/vocational nurses, including knowledge expectations emerging from the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association’s Statement on the Scope and Standards of Hospice and Palliative Licensed Practical/Vocational Nursing Practice as well as the Core Curriculum for the Licensed Practical/Vocational Hospice and Palliative Nurse.
