RN Webinar - Overview of Wound & Ostomy Care in the Hospice

Join Anne Walsh, ANP-BC, CWOCN, ACHPN , when she presents "Overview of Wound & Ostomy Care in  the Hospice".

Many patients present to hospice with wounds of varying etiologies and complexities.  These can be a significant stress for patients, caregivers, and staff during an already stressful time.

The skin being the largest organ in the body may break down along with the other organs, but due to the visual nature may be a constant reminder of the underlying illness and may lead to caregivers feeling guilty as they may blame themselves for the wound(s) occurring or not healing.

The caregivers and the staff need the support of the WOC clinician to assist in getting an appropriate wound care plan in place to increase the healing potential where feasible, to manage distressing symptoms and to avoid the inappropriate use of expensive wound care supplies.  The following hospice case studies will demonstrate both wound healing and palliation when wound healing was not possible.

A link to join the webinar will be sent prior to the session to the email used during registration.
